Have you prepared your voters checklist?
Following a music video screening of "I Stand 2 Vote" by CPF-CO-Director, Min King X aka Pyeface, there will be 12 spanelists who will speak briefly on the pros and cons of each statewide proposition that will be on the ballot this year. We will spend approximately 5 minutes on each proposition, with more time on a handful of the propositions that are less clear cut or of special significance to the work we do at California Prison Focuss, including Proposition 16, 20, 21 and 25.
The evening will end with some comments, suggested action items and announcements by Min. King X.
This Donations-requested event will support the work we do at California Prison Focus/KAGE Universal. Donations will be used to compensate formerly incarcerated panel speakers at this and other I Stand 2 Vote Campaign events.
Trivia tid bit: On October 27, 1960, Martin Luther King Jr was released from the Georgia State Prison following a direct intervention from Robert F. Kennedy who had advocated for his constitutional right to bail, while pending appeal of a traffic conviction.
This Campaign was made possible by the CIRCLE for JUSTICE INNOVATIONS, funding grassroots organizations to end mass incarceration & state violence.
