In the early hours of July 20th, guards at Soledad State Prison ripped 200+ Black prisoners from their beds and forced them to sit for 6 hours side by side, without their masks, with their hands zip-tied behind them, facing an onslaught of racist threats. Since this incident at least 33 incarcerated people have tested positive for COVID, and the prison has yet to give any justification for the attack.
Join us on Saturday, August 22, at 11 a.m. outside Soledad State Prison (CTF) during Black August to demand justice for Black prisoners. In the spirit of the Black Lives Matter Movement, we will stand up to racist prison guard terrorism and demand "Black Incarcerated Lives Matter!"
This is a statewide action organized by We Bring Change, an organization created by the wife of one of the men ripped from their cell at Soledad, No Justice Under Capitalism, a coalition organized to address the emergency of COVID-19 in California prisons. the Prisoner Solidarity Committee of Workers World Party and California Prison Focus.
